In only three weeks, my life has changed for the better, and as my best friend Kim told me yesterday, "you'll definitely appreciate the small things in life after having a baby." Here are some small things that I've come to appreciate:
1. Getting out of the house. Adam watched Luke for two hours yesterday while I got a pedicure and went to Target. I've never been so excited to go grocery shopping, even though I did call him three times to make sure all was OK.
2. Time to myself. Yesterday I had to go to the bathroom while wearing Luke in the Baby Bjorn.
3. Going out. I should've listened to everyone when they said to go out to eat and to the movies when I was pregnant.
4. Eating. I schedule my day around someone else's feedings, and I tend to eat my meals standing up or walking around rather than sitting down.
5. Sleep. I've learned to sleep with one ear open.
All in all, it's a lot harder than I thought it would be, but it's been the most rewarding experience I've ever had!
It is so hard...but know that the first few weeks are the hardest. It gets easier (or you get use to the madness.) Just think...you could handle being pregnant for 9 months. For 9 months you waited to meet him. Trust me, in 9 months time will seem to have gone so fast and you will miss holding him while you potty, or waking up to feed him. (okay....maybe not the waking up part.)
ReplyDeletesoo soo true! I remember that pee dilemma! too funny! Like the first comment, it does go so fast! promise!!
