28 Weeks

Today, I'm 28 weeks pregnant, so just 12 to go! That's unbelievable -- seems like no time at all. I still have to:

get his room ready
get me ready
attend three weeks worth of birthing classes
attend breastfeeding class
organize everything at work

Geez! Right now, he's almost 15 inches long and weighs 2.25 pounds.

Getting Ready for Baby

Adam and I (mostly Adam -- I was the instruction reader) put together the bassinet last night ... just in case we need it early! Took us less than an hour, and it matches our bedroom furniture. We put Max in it, just to see how a baby would fit. He didn't like it so much, but he thought the mattress was his to lay on before we'd put it in the finished bed.
Baby, we're ready.

Wedding Weekend!

Adam's cousin Leah got married this weekend in The Woodlands. So pretty! I somehow don't have a single picture of the couple, but here are a couple of Adam's brothers and sisters and our nieces Katie and Lauren.

Had a great time! Congrats, Mr. and Mrs. DeWitt!

Hoot Girls

Adam and I visited the Hoot girls today. Adam's going to be a natural -- he's burping Carson in this picture...as you can see she was kind of milk drunk. Olivia was a sleepy girl after she ate. These two are still two weeks shy of their due date, but they're beautiful, growing and eating, and we couldn't be happier for Morgan and John! Congrats on your family of five!

Lookin' Good!

Had a doctor's appointment today, and she said we're looking good! I was tested for gestational diabetes and should have the results tomorrow. From here on out, I'll go every two weeks. I've signed up to be part of a focus group for a website geared for pregnant women...interesting and fun, and a free $100!

Mic and I are growing big ole' bellies!

Seeing Seeing Double Double

Good thing we didn't have Morgan's baby shower any later because she had the babies the next day! Carson and Olivia are so beautiful, and I got to hold Carson the other day! They're healthy, born about six weeks early and just need to eat a little more so they can go home. Currently they're in NICU, and Morgan says it'll be another week. Go Olivia and Carson! Eat, eat, eat!

Hello, Third Trimester!

We're starting the 27th week, officially the third trimester! And, big things are happening to Luke, who's now the size of an English hothouse cucumber (whatever that is!), according to babycenter.com:

The network of nerves in your baby's ears is better developed and more sensitive than before. He may now be able to hear both your voice and your partner's as you chat with each other. He's inhaling and exhaling small amounts of amniotic fluid, which is essential for the development of his lungs. These so-called breathing movements are also good practice for when he's born and takes that first gulp of air. And he's continuing to put on baby fat. He now weighs about a pound and two-thirds and measures 14 inches (an English hothouse cucumber) from head to heel. If you're having a boy, his testicles are beginning to descend into his scrotum — a trip that will take two to three days.

Interesting...

Happy birthday, Katie!

Our niece Katie is nine years old today! Happy birthday, Katie -- hope it's great!

Morgan's Baby...er Babies...Shower

One of my best friends Morgan is pregnant with twins and due in about two weeks. Kim, Rachel, Averi and Tiffany (both not pictured) and I hosted a shower for her at my house this weekend. If I must say so myself, we made the absolute cutest diaper cake in the world. We can't wait to meet these babies!

Speaking of babies, since it's in the water and everyone's pregnant right now, thought we'd take a picture before Morgan pops these girls out. In this picture are Mo, Michaela (due 8/19), me (due 8/21) and Mikel (due 9/22).

Sister Sue from Seattle

Sister Suzy and her boyfriend Michael visited this weekend from Seattle. It was so good to see her -- I miss her so much, especially right now since I'm pregnant. When they come in town, they have several must-dos -- eat BBQ, eat TexMex, get HEB raw tortillas to take home, go to Spec's.

24 Weeks

Twenty-four weeks and counting! Luke's gained about four ounces since last week, so he's just over a pound and almost a foot long. I feel him moving all the time, and Adam finally felt it the other day!
