Just Being Cute
He's just an all-around cute little dude, whether he's dancing an Irish jig:
Or being cool in his carseat:

Luke Loves Busses
I'm not sure if it's totally normal the love Luke has for a yellow schoolbus. And, that might be an understatement. Just to really send him into orbit, I drove him by the schoolbus yard. Wow. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HaJ42MizWhY
Easter 2011
We had a wonderful Easter this year. Luke is getting close to really figuring out how to hunt eggs. He and I went to a neighbor's house the day before and it seemed he had it down: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NXVzY4EM7tA
But, then the next day, we had my parents, Brooke, Mic and Ryan and family and Elaine over for an impromptu egg hunt and roast lunch and the boys didn't seem too interested. What they were interested in was the whipped cream for dessert and licking the beaters. As it turns out, Luke did what he did best ... get extremely dirty and play with his best little buddy Nolan.
That morning we went to church with my parents, and I had a lady come up to me and say that Luke looked like a little yuppie. I couldn't figure out if that was a compliment or not, but I took it as one because I thought he looked adorable.

Getting Ready for Baby
Not much longer! This week, I'll be 34 weeks. I'm starting to get a little stressed out about getting everything ready in time. I think I've waited too long to get new bedroom furniture for Luke. Our plan is to use the bassinet for the new baby for as long as possible so Luke can continue to use the crib. Ideally, when the new baby moves into the crib, he'll move into a toddler bed. But, I'd still like to have the furniture ready, mainly because I want to have two different changing tables since Luke and the new baby will use different diapers, creams, etc. Plus, I'd hate for Luke to bring home something from daycare and give it to the new baby, transferring it at the changing table. Maybe I'm thinking too much into it, but it'll make me feel better, so that's what we're doing.
Luke's getting ready, too. He kissed my tummy this weekend, and he'll pat it and say ,"Baby!" And, he must have seen Michaela set Olivia in the boppy when they were here for the crawfish boil. When I wrapped up his baby in a blanket, he put it in the boppy and said, "Shhhh. Nigh nigh."

Shoo Fly!
We've had a fly buzzing in the house for a couple of days, and it's driving Luke crazy. He tells it to "go away!" When it lands really close to him, he'll stop what he's doing to shoo it away, the dirty little bug that it is. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z7mijUr1cnE

Crawfish Boil!
Since there are so many people in both Adam's and my families, when one person has a birthday, it's best to group the rest of the people who share that birthday month together and have one big party to celebrate. Last Sunday we had a crawfish boil at our house for Grandmother's and Aunt Amy's birthdays. Adam's mom is originally from Louisiana and Amy said this was just the way she wanted to kick off the warm weather.
The cousins all had so much fun. The little boys spent the day in swim diapers splashing in the baby pool and playing with Lauren and Katie who are both so good with them. And, as it turns out, Luke has a Cajun streak in him -- he loves crawfish. Adam couldn't peel them fast enough. Luke kept giving him the "more" sign.
It's a good thing he's cute! He sure did enjoy eating straight out of that carton.
But, you can rest assured that Luke didn't suck any crawfish heads. However, his crazy Uncle Ryan did. And, so did Grandmother! First time for everything. (Thanks, Amy, for letting me steal your pictures from Facebook!)
