Family Pictures

Michaela's photographer friend met us at the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center (where we got married) to take family pictures. Here are some of my favorites.

Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day, Adam! Like my dad told me the other day, I'm pretty lucky. You're the best husband and friend a girl could ask for, and the best dad to Luke!

Today, besides unpacking and moving the last bit of stuff, Adam slept in, took a nap with Luke and enjoyed a roast dinner by yours truly. Pretty good day, I'd say. He deserves more like that.

Wheeee Wheels!

Luke. Loves. Wheels. All wheels.

Wheels on his stroller (especially), wheels on the vacuum, wheels on the plastic pusharound toy, wheels on cars. Anything that rolls, he rolls with it. Even if it doesn't, he pushes it around when he crawls. Today, no kidding, he spent 30 minutes with his stroller. Just moving it back and forth, studying the wheels.

Home Sweet Home

We've moved! We closed this Monday, moved on Tuesday, finished today. I have less than 10 boxes to unpack, but a lot of organizing. Our to-do list is a mile long, but it should be fun getting everything together. Surprisingly, our furniture looks pretty good in the house, and we -- somehow -- filled it up. We must have been more cramped than I thought at the other house.

Luke seems to like it. He's been crawling all over the place today. Earlier this week, he'd only crawl in about a five-foot radius from me. He's really into momma lately, which is totally OK with me.

Mad Max

Max isn't mad really, maybe disappointed. His life has turned upside down since Luke is now king of the house. He doesn't get half the attention he used to, but when he can steal a moment, he's right in my face or at my feet, just asking me to pet him or pick him up. Even when I'm on the computer, he's right there...

My Favorite Toys

Lately, Luke's favorite toys aren't toys. They're everyday things that I don't necessarily want him to have. So, he of course wants them so badly he can't stand it.

1. the remote -- we're on remote #2. The first remote I took the batteries out of we lost at the mall. Darn it! I felt like Parker Posey in "Best in Show": "Where's the Busy Bee??" I thought he'd forget about it, but noooo. Still fixated. He even took a nap with it.

2. my phone -- everytime I talk on the phone, he literally drops what he's doing and scurries over to me, trying to grab it out of my hands. I gave him an old cell phone I had, and he seems happy at the moment.

3. boxes, spoons, bowls -- anything he can climb in, bang on, or throw, he's really into.

4. throw pillow -- for some reason, there is a specific couch pillow that he really loves to bury his head in. He'll grab it off the couch and put it in his lap and lay on it. It's so funny.

Down the Home Stretch

These titles are so "Carrie Bradshaw", I can't stand it. Puns, puns and more puns.

We close this Thursday! I can't believe that we're already finished. We had the walk-through last week, and everything looks so great! They have a few small things to fix like paint spots, dings, etc.
Here are a few pics from several weeks ago. Some really great mistakes have happened -- the builder accidentally tiled our bathroom floor with marble cutouts (we wanted that option but ended up deleting it for cost), and they also accidentally installed the wrong tub, resulting in a tile surround (again, we wanted that option, but ended up deleting it). Hey ... I'm not complaining.

Memorial Day 2010

Summer is definitely here. Good grief -- it's so hot outside! We went over to Michaela and Ryan's for an impromptu Memorial Day celebration. Luke and Nolan had a great time in the kiddie pool. I had to steal these pictures from Mic's blog because I didn't take as many good ones. My favorite is the one of Nolan pulling Luke's trunks down.
